The organization was formed on March 18, 1986 by a group of local individual volunteers who had a vision to enhance the natural beauty of the Madison Riverfront while creating an atmosphere which encourages residents and visitors to gather. The primary focus of the organization is to protect the past while enhancing the future. Madison sits on the bank of the Ohio River with breathtaking views of Kentucky and the Ohio River Valley.  The famed Madison brick walkway stretches 1.5 miles and serves as a reminder of what a community can accomplish when it works together. The Madison Riverfront Development Committee is a 501 C-3 Organization and all proceeds come from private donations. The committee also hosts 2 Annual Fundraisers, The Wine Stein And Barrel event and the Golf Cart/UTV Poker Run.. The Madison Riverfront has been Awarded Outstanding Community Development Project by the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns!
